About Us

Launched in 2010 by Kristina Larsen, a licensed professional registered nurse, Neighborhood Nurse^® intends to bring healthcare advice and guidance directly to individuals and their families when they need it most. We seek to reduce the frustration, anxiety and the feeling of helplessness often associated with addressing a real-time healthcare problem. Today our Nurse 24/7 services are offered nationwide, while our Aging Parent and Advocate Services offering is focused currently in Atlanta, Georgia and its surrounding communities. Regional and national expansion will occur throughout 2011 and 2012.

Company Story

It started in response to the outcry in neighborhoods across America for a simple, single, reliable source when we are faced with a healthcare problem or question we can’t answer. Company founder Kris Larsen, RN, has always been there for her family and friends to give professional advice and guidance when called upon and has found that those in need are extremely grateful to have that support and relationship. However, most families and their friends don’t have access to a “knowledgeable healthcare friend” who happens to be a nurse.

As healthcare becomes more and more complex, Kris believes everyone should have access to a knowledgeable healthcare friend. She decided to create Neighborhood Nurse® to achieve that goal as well as empower the nursing community to leverage their years of service in an entrepreneurial role as Neighborhood Nurse® s. Our mission is to help people easily handle every healthcare situation, and to feel confident about their medical choices and the care decisions they make for themselves and their families.

Our vision for the future is to be first and best source for healthcare-related advisory services. We will be the leader in providing local community resources that offer 24/7 access and individualized face-to-face relationships. Neighborhood Nurse® is an organization built on the shared values of community-based healthcare and dedicated clinician-to-consumer relationships. Our success is built on our belief in evidence based medicine practices, effective collaboration with all health care providers and care team members and providing the appropriate resources and tools direct to consumers.
